The authors’ signature work, “The Mixer”, is an interactive installation centred around a towering, custom-built mixer that links three independent light-reactive sound devices into a dynamic network. This evolving network responds to both environmental changes—such as shifts in brightness, colour, and rhythm—and to the gestures of participants. Light-sensitive components allow these inputs to directly shape the sound, with each device generating its own unique response. As the lights shift and the audience engages, space, time, and sound merge into a vibrant and evanescent environment.
Unlike traditional mixers, “The Mixer” has no fixed rules. It serves as an open platform where anyone can connect instruments, experiment freely, and collaborate to co-create unrepeatable soundscapes. Through this shared exploration, spectators become active makers, celebrating unpredictability and collective creation.
