Plasma Organism

“Plasma Organism” explores the ambiguous boundary between coral and stone—where coral represents life cloaked as stone, and stone remains the eternal skeleton left behind. Reinterpreting Hong Kong’s fading neon heritage into intimate art, the project combines traditional lampworking with micro-electronics to seal noble gas into wearable, organic glass forms and electrically excite it into a glowing plasma. Through the interplay of luminous glass vessels and wearable pieces rich in stone-like textures, the work reveals a microscopic symbiotic ecosystem. Suspended between the rigid and the fragile, the inorganic and the organic, the still and the glowing, it captures the tranquil flow of deep-ocean life.
